President Ghani Chairs NSC Meeting

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani chaired the meeting of National Security Council (NSC) on Wednesday at the Presidential Palace, BNA reported.
At the outset of the meeting, the policies on special operations conducted by the national security forces were discussed and after some changes it was approved.
The NSC termed the special operations very effective in checking terrorist activities and systematic crimes and backed it.
It was stressed in the meeting that conducting special operations is vital for stabilizing security, guaranteeing national sovereignty, ensuring rule of law and the right of citizenship in the country.
The NSC in the meeting asserted that the Islamic teachings and Afghan culture and traditions must be respected during the special operations, besides protecting the lives of civilians. Later, the chief of army staff Gen. Shir Mohammad Karimi presented his report about the security situation in the country, saying the security in this week was better than last week. He also said that the enemies had suffered huge casualties during operations in Dangam district. In the meeting the NSC also praised the courage and bravery of the national security forces during the operations in Dangam district.
