Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has conferred prestigious government medal on 36 culturists, writers and poets in appreciation of their efforts and contribution to promotion of culture and literary during the conclusion ceremony of the seminar on Prof. Dr. Sayed Bahauddin Majroh here on Wednesday evening, a presidential statement said. At the outset, Prof. Hamidullah Farouqi, rector of Kabul University, briefed the president about the seminar and a series of academic gatherings, adding the program this time highlighted scientific and literary work of the deceased Prof.
Dr. Sayed Bahauddin Majroh. Talking on behalf of men of cultures, Dr. Noor-ul-Habib Nisar and another Kabul University lecturer, Dr. Mohammad Daud Rawesh, appreciated the president’s attention to the country’s culturists and scholars. President Ghani thanked all those who participated in organizing the Prof. Dr. Sayed Bahauddin Majroh Seminar, calling Majroh a strong academic character and said the scholar left behind a long-term message for his people so discussions on him should not remain limited to a seminar. President Ghani said Majrho’s thoughts should be developed and placed in the education curriculum. “The thoughts of Majroh have many dimensions, he analyzed intellectual, social and political crisis very well. Majroh was able to serve as a prime minister, but he preferred to teach in university,” he said. The president added a faculty in Kunar University and some squares in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces should be named after Majroh. The state, society and people could not live without a culture the development of which needed comprehensive efforts, he said. The president assured a cultural council would be created in near future.
