Chinese Foreign Minister Arrives Kabul to Meet IEA Officials

KABUL(BNA) Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Kabul this morning.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Deputy Spokesman of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, tweeted that the Chinese Foreign Minister had visited Kabul.

After arriving in Kabul, the Chinese Foreign Minister met with Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, he added.

The Foreign Ministry says that during his visit to Kabul, the Chinese Foreign Minister will hold talks with the officials of the Islamic Emirate on strengthening political, economic, transit and humanitarian relations.

It is mentionable that after the Islamic Emirate regain sovereignty, the People’s Republic of China maintained its relations with Afghanistan and its embassy is active in Kabul.

On the other hand, China is one of the suppliers of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and in the last six months, several shipments of its humanitarian aid have been transferred to Afghanistan.
