Justice, Judicial Organs To Do More To Decrease Violence Against Women, CE

Kabul (BNA) In a conference held on Saturday to decrease violence against women, Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said despite improvements, still the rate of violence against women was high, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported.
At the outset, CE Abdullah lauded the reforms in Attorney General Office particularly improving the new culture in that administration, offering better services and establishing deputy office to address violence against women and children, according to BNA.
Expressing glad over improvements on fighting violence against women Dr. Abdullah said, “The violence rate is still high and it is the responsibility of all particularly the justice and judicial organs to do more on declining violence against women, because, development and progress are depended to reducing and uprooting violence among the people.”
CE Abdullah said ensuring justice was among the main responsibilities of justice and judicial organs, the agency added.
He added freedom is the most natural right of citizens and their freedom would be guaranteed if social justice is ensured, BNA went on to say.
During the conference, Attorney general Farid Ahmad Hamidi said the justice and judicial organs were seriously making effort so the laws are properly implemented, because, execution of law would ensure social justice, BNA continued.
He added peace and security would not restore if social justice is not maintained.
Reporting about serious plans and firm will on fighting violence, attorney general Hamidi said fighting violence was impossible through courts and the violence related factors should be fought as well.
He asked CE Abdullah to name a week after families so further works are done on importance, role and family’s position in the society in this week.
