Committee On Emergency Situations Discusses Means To Help Kunduz IDPs

Kabul (BNA) The Committee on Emergency Situation held meeting the other day and discussed the ways and means on how to help the internally displaced people (IDPs) due to conflicts in Kunduz.
Chaired by Hajji Mohammad Mohaqiq, Second Deputy to Chief Executive and attended by officials from international aid agencies and parliamentarians from Kunduz province, Mohaqiq expressed sorrow over the unexpected situation in Kunduz, but congratulated the victory of national security forces in defeating and evicting terrorists from Kunduz city. More than 4500 families are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance; Mohaqiq said and urged concerned ministries to extend their assistance to the needy families. Speaking at the meeting, the minister for refugees and repatriation, Sayed Hussain Alami Balkhi said that some 40 aid agencies have announced their readiness to help the IDPs of Kunduz. Chairman of Red Crescent, Fatima Gilani said in the meeting that the entity would begin supplying aid assistance to Kunduz IDPs from Saturday. Minister for public health, Dr. Firozuddin Firoz said in the meeting that 375 injured people have been treated in Kunduz hospital over the past three days.
