CE Meets New Chairman of International Organization For Refugees

Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in his meeting with the new chairman of the International Organization for Refugees, spoke on some related issues, his office said in a statement the other day. According to the statement the new chairman briefed about his work as saying he worked for the Afghan refugees in Pakistan, Iran and other countries and provided with capacity building programs. He also provided the country’s CE with his led organization report on the Afghan refugees and assured him of his continued cooperation for voluntarily returning his country. Meanwhile, Dr. Abdullah wished him success and hoped he could do more for the Afghan refugees as well as assured him of Afghanistan’s close cooperation with the international organization for refugees. The CE also met with the deputy Japanese special representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan and wished him further success in his related affairs and thanked him for his visit to Afghanistan, according to the statement. The Japanese official, Katsushiko Takahashi, assured the CE for his country’s full cooperation with the Afghan peace talks, saying Japan was willing a lasting peace and security in Afghanistan and would provide cooperation in this field further than ever. According to another report, deputy foreign minister on political affairs, Hekmat Khalil Karzai met with the new chairman of the International Organization for Refugees, Mrs. Lorenz Hart, a statement from his office said the other day. The deputy minister for political affairs said Afghans have sought refuge in other countries due to different reasons and Afghanistan was ready to cooperate with the international organization for refugees for the Afghan refugees everywhere worldwide, the statement added. The new chairman of the International Organization for Refugees thanked him for his country’s cooperation with his led organization and said his organization was in close understanding with all world countries, hosting Afghan refugees as well the UNHCR to pave the ground for voluntary return of the Afghan refugees from abroad, considering the Afghan political and economic situations.
