Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the Public Financial Management meeting was held the other day at the Presidential Palace, the President Press Office said in a statement.
According to the statement, at the outset, Minister of Finance, Eklil Hakimi briefed the meeting on Australian finance ministry teamwork jointly working with Afghanistan’s ministry of finance on Public Financial Management, the statement further said. He said this was an effective process, based on which improvement and efficiency have been revealed in Public Financial Management section of the ministry, the statement added. Afterward, President Ghani thanked the minister of finance on inviting the Australian finance ministry team which is experienced in the respect for capacity building of the public financial management sector, the statement continued. In the meeting, President Ghani said that Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US had good experiences in public financial management section and with utilizing the systems, efforts will be made to recognize the existed problems and fundamentally solve them. The president pointed out that the Public Financial Management will first focus on ministries of agriculture, interior, defense, Supreme Audit Office, Central Statistics Office and local organs so their problems in spending the budget are figured out.
