Kabul (BNA) Dr. Sayed Makhdom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture appreciated the Afghan athletes medal winners from the London Olympics.
Addressing the athletes at the ceremony said that it is a great honor for the people of the country that the Afghan flag was hoisted at the hands of the hero athletes of Afghanistan that brought about welcome throughout the country.
He added that all the nation were enthusiast over the success of Naikpah, Bahawe, Tehmina Kohistani and other three athletes of the country.
Dr. Raheen noted that we should exert efforts and place all our possibilities at the disposal of our heroes and for this very reason the ministry has proposed establishment of the high sports council to the presidential office in which all the related organs will participate.
Temur Shah Ishaqzai deputy minister for youth affairs also talked on this occasion.
Among other, Fereshta Farah deputy head of the Olympic Committee, Mrs. Nahid Farid, Mrs. Shah Gul Rezayee and Fereshta Ameni members of the House of People and Mawlawi Dansihju member of the Senate also talked in the ceremony and thanked the ministry of information for appreciating the athletes.
Naikpah and Tehmina Kohistani while thanking the ministry of information and culture said that their success belong to the people of Afghanistan.
At the end the appreciation documents were presented to the athletes by Dr. Raheen, Temur Shah Ishaqzai and Farahi deputy ministers of information and culture.
