Earthquake Claims 115 Lives, Wounds 865 People In Afghanistan: Barmak

Kabul (BNA) The Minister for Natural Disaster Management and Response, Wais Barmak told cabinet that the quake which struck Afghanistan on Monday had claimed 115 lives, injured 865 and had destroyed 7,630 residential houses.
In the cabinet with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the chair here the other day, minister Barmak also added that 20 mosques, nine administrative offices of the government and 12 schools were also partially damaged in the quake. The cabinet members after hearing the report and offering prayer for the departed souls and praying for the early recovery of those injured in the tremor have tasked the ministry for defense to allocate two helicopters to dispatch humanitarian assistance in cooperation with NATO-led forces to the quake-f affected areas to help the affected families.
