KABUL (BNA) A provincial committee of dispute resolution will be formed, said Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajudden Haqqani, to prevent ethnic tensions, violence, and other cases of violence in the three southeastern provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Khost.
Haqqani made the remarks at a grand jirga convened in the Sori khail Zone of Paktia’s Garda Sere district to resolve his earlier dispute.
The family of the deceased Jalaluddin Haqqani killed a member of the Sori khail tribe by mistake about 70 years back, said, local elders.
But despite efforts, no similar solution has been found in recent years. ” until recently a grand Jirga reconciled the two sides.
Tribal elders praised the courage of the Haqqani network head Sirajudden Haqqani, which had been approached by representatives of several provinces, and called for a general amnesty.
On behalf of the family of the deceased Haqqani, Anas Haqqani, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, and Ibrahim Haqqani thanked the family of the deceased for forgiving blood and assured them of forming a dispute resolution committee of the provincial south-east zone to unify the provinces of Paktika, Paktia, and Khost.
