Kandahar (BNA) Unidentified Gunmen assassinated police officer in Kandahar.
The officer, who is said to have worked for the police in Shah Wali Kot district, was shot dead by two men riding motorcycle last night in Kandahar city.
Kandahar security source told BNA that the police officer has come to his house into the city to spend his vacation.
“Efforts have begun to track down and arrest the perpetrators of the police officer assassination,” he said.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack, but security sources have blamed Taliban for the assassination.
In recent months, parts of the country, especially Kabul and Kandahar, have witnessed an increase in targeted assassinations.
