Rabbani Meets UNHCR Commissioner

Kabul (BNA) Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Foreign Affairs met Fillipo Grandi, chairman of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) the other day, his office said in a statement.
At the outset, foreign minister Rabbani expressed gratitude to the UN refugee agency in supporting of the immigrants, particularly the Afghans across the globe, the statement further said.
Calling to address the Afghan refugees’ problems in different countries of the world as the Afghan government priority, Rabbani said the government is decisive in this respect, the statement added.
Afterward, UN commissioner on refugees said his agency is committed to continue defending the Afghan refugees’ rights and called his trip in World Refugee Day to Afghanistan, a clear symbol of his agency’s attention to meet the Afghan refugees’ problems around the world, the statement continued.
During the meeting, both sides also exchanged views on Afghan migrants living in Iran, Pakistan and European countries and to find solutions to their problems.
According to another report, Rabbani also telephoned to Kamal Thapa, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the other day.
During the conversation, Minister Rabbani expressed his condolences over killing a number of Nepal citizens in Monday’s Kabul terrorist attack to the government of Nepal and its people.
Likewise, Rabbani assured his Nepalese counterpart of sparing no effort on treatment of those Nepalese citizens injured in the incident.
Furthermore, thanking Rabbani’s expressing sympathy, Mr. Thapa asked him to cooperate in transferring of the Nepalese dead bodies as well as in treatment of those injured in the incident.
In Monday’s suicide attack in the capital Kabul, a number of Nepalese citizens who were working for a private company have been killed and injured.
