Internet Services Prices To Drop Down, Minister

Kabul (BNA) Amirzai Sangin, Minister for Communication and Information Technology (CIT) has said that the price of communication and internet services would be reduced from January 2013.
Addressing a press conference here yesterday, he stated that the price of one megabit and fast internet 3-G from 300 US dollars would be reduced to 97 US dollars by Afghan Telecom to the countrymen.
He also stated that the price of one megabit from 2500 Afghani a month has been reduced to 1200 Afghanis.
With the operation of optical fiber system, the price of communication services have been drastically reduced over the past two years, the minister added.
He also hoped that 80 percent of the country’s population would have access to internet services within the next five years.
