DAB Delegation to Attend 22nd Annual Islamic Financial Services Board Meeting in Djibouti

 

KABUL(BNA): Hedayatullah Badri, the acting head of Da Afghanistan Bank, led a delegation to Djibouti to participate in the 22nd annual meeting of the Islamic Financial Services Board ( IFSB).

This annual meeting, scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of July, is organized by the Islamic Financial Services Board and the Central Bank of Djibouti. During the meeting, the board’s performance and financial reports from the past year will be discussed and subsequently approved.

Additionally, member countries of the board are set to discuss and exchange views on plans and practical measures, focusing on Sharia principles, standards related to Islamic banking, the effective management of financial companies and banks, the impact of digitization on Islamic banking, and the promotion of Islamic banking at the international level.

The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) is an international organization that develops and publishes standards to strengthen the soundness and stability of the Islamic financial services industry.

These standards are created within the framework of Sharia guidelines and Islamic principles, covering the banking sector, financial markets, and insurance for institutions engaged in Islamic financial services.

It is noteworthy that Da Afghanistan Bank, the central banks of Islamic countries, Islamic banks, and international organizations are members of the Islamic Financial Services Board.
