Security Forces Role In Ensuring Elections Security Praised

Kabul (BNA) A number of journalists have hailed the role of personnel of the national army, national police and the personnel of national directorate for security (NDS) for ensuring security during presidential and provincial councils’ elections.
According to BNA, in a special ceremony held at the Government Media Center here yesterday, Abdul Wakil Ahsas on behalf of journalists appreciated the performances of the security and defense personnel in providing security for the process of elections and said that the security personnel by providing security during elections have won the trust of people and civil society more than any other time.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Mohammad Ayub Salangi the senior deputy for security with the interior ministry thanked the journalists and civil society and said, “It is a matter of pleasure that the security personnel particularly the national police who are composed of all the ethnic of Afghanistan have been appreciated by the people of Afghanistan.
Salangi also added that the attempts of the terrorists and their foreign supporters to undermine people participation in the elections process have been failed by the brave security forces and thus enabling high turnout of people in the elections. The lawmakers Nisar, Haris, Fauzia Kofi, Baktash Siawash and Ahmad Behzad and spokesman of NDS Lutfullah Mashal also in their speeches hailed the performances of the security personnel in ensuring security for the presidential and provincial councils’ elections held on April 5.
