Deputy Minister of Labor Discusses Employment Initiatives with UNDP Head

 

KABUL(BNA): Mawlawi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, held a significant meeting with Stephan Rodriguez, Head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, Mawlawi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai emphasized that to address the unemployment issue, vocational training centers have been established in various provinces and the capital. These centers aim to equip citizens, especially the younger generation, with the necessary skills tailored to market demands.

He also provided an update on the progress made during the National Labor Conference and expressed hope that the UNDP would share its technical advice with the ministry regarding the conference.

In response, Stephan Rodriguez praised the ministry’s efforts and expressed optimism that UNDP’s technical teams, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, would study the labor market and create suitable employment opportunities for Afghan citizens.

Rodriguez also promised that future UNDP projects would be coordinated with the ministry and implemented in remote areas.
