Deputy MP: Expand Diplomatic Ties with China is Important For the IEA

KABUL (BNA) Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with chinses Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his accompanying delegation at the Presidential Palace this afternoon.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, mentioning that Afghanistan has abundant mines, called on China to start mining, implement development projects and start work on the Mas Aynak copper project in Logar.

The Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs emphasized the importance of expanding exports of agricultural products, including saffron, and called for the inclusion of Afghanistan in a major project (One Belt One Road) and the introduction of lessons for Afghan students in that country, Asked.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Wang Yi of the People’s Republic of China said that Afghanistan and China have long-standing and historic ties and we hope that the friendship between the two countries will continue and strengthen.

“China does not interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs and we respect the independence and trust of Afghans,” he said. China appreciates the positive steps taken by the Islamic Emirate and the importance of building an inclusive state and making a positive difference in the lives of Afghan women and children.

“The country has provided emergency assistance to the Afghan people and we are focusing on areas where there is an urgent need for assistance,” he said.

Wang said China has been successful in strengthening trade ties with Afghanistan and is ready to cooperate in mining and building roads and hospitals.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that China would make efforts to increase the import of Afghan agricultural products to China and the Chinese embassy would take steps in this regard considering the role of Afghan students in Afghanistan’s economic development.

He emphasized the importance of security cooperation between the two countries, adding that a meeting of foreign ministers would be hosted by China in the near future and invited the acting foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate to attend.

The officials also demanded the resumption of the Mas Aynak “copper project” and the use of China’s potential in the extraction of other minerals in the country, as well as the training of Afghan cadres in geological surveys and mining, China shared with delegation.
