Deputy PM, Baradar Left to Balkh

BALKH (BNA) Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, traveled to Balkh province today to inaugurate the large Qush Tepae Canal’s project.

On his visit, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister, met with Mawlawi Qudratullah Abu Hamza, Governor and other officials of Balkh.

The Deputy Prime Minister will be accompanied by a number of other high-ranks officials of the Islamic Emirate in the inauguration of this vital project.

Its worth mentioning that the 285km long, 100m wide and 8.5 m deep canal will be constructed, which will have the capacity to irrigate 550,000 hectares of land and will transfer 650 cubic meters of water per second.

Its must be said that the water source of this canal is the Amu Darya River, which is connected to Andkhoy district of Faryab by passing through Dolatabad and Aqcha districts of Jawzjan province.
