KABUL (BNA) Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar deputy prime minister on his visit to the United Arab Emirates to attend the funeral of former UAE Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, met with the country’s new president, Mohammad bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to express his condolences on the demise of Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
In a statement by the press office of the Second Deputy Prime Minister said Mullah Baradar expressed his condolences to the government and people of the United Arab Emirates on the demise of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on behalf of the Afghan government.
During his visit to the UAE, the Deputy Prime Minister met with other officials of the UAE and discussed the strengthening of trade relations. Added the statement.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has called on UAE officials to a resolution on the issue of visas for Afghan nationals and to restart flights between the two countries.
The statement added that Deputy Prime Minister asked UAE officials to release those Afghan prisoners who have not committed serious crimes.
On his visit, Mullah Baradar invited Afghan businessmen and investors to return to the country and continue their economic and commercial activities.
