Kabul (BNA) Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Political Prime Minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with head and members of Afghanistan Association of Pharmaceutical and Health Products, today at the Sapidar Palace.
According to BNA, In the meeting, Abdul Hakim Hamidi, chief of director the Association of Pharmacists and Health Products of Afghanistan, Dr. Najibullah Sahibzada and Dr. Ahmad Saeed Shams, the union’s deputies, spoke, respectively.
They expressed satisfaction with the security situation that creates a good environment for business and trade, and shares their problems and suggestions with deputy PM, in the sector of import and production of spices and health products, including banking problems, high tariffs on imported raw materials and the lack of comprehensive laws, in the Department of Medicine and Food.
They asked for more of the support of Government and shows readiness in investing on the products of spices.
At the current state up to, 95% of spices in Afghanistan are imported from aboard.
The representative of the association, called for a review of the spice law and protection of domestic products, saying that a special industrial park should be set up for spice factories and health products, and necessary conditions needed towards building investment opportunities.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the businessmen and investors for their service to the people and said: “Supporting the private sector and investing in Afghanistan is one of the priorities of the Islamic Emirate and the necessary efforts will be made to address your problems and suggestions through relevant institutions.”
