Deputy Prime Minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Meet with UN Special Representative for Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA)  Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met yesterday evening with Ms. Deborah Laines, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan.

During the meeting, which took place at Arg  Ms. Deborah Laines first spoke about her upcoming visit to the United States of America and the United Nations activities in Afghanistan. Said, we are trying to work closely with the Islamic Emirate.

On the other hand, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan said, we are determined to work closely with the international community, especially the United Nations.

He added that the Islamic Emirate provides the necessary facilities, including security, to the United Nations in Afghanistan and welcomes the organization’s useful and positive advice. He added, we call on the United Nations and the international community to strengthen the new government of Afghanistan, especially the banking system, to increase our cooperation with the world.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate said, our priority is to ensure comprehensive security and civil rights for every Afghan.

Mawlavi Hanafi added, we will not allow any group to use Afghan territory against the security of others and we are determined to control drugs and we call on the United Nations and the international community to provide a suitable livelihood for Afghan farmers.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Deborah Laines expressed her gratitude for the security of the UN offices.
