Japan Announced $58.4 million Aid to Assist Afghan Returnees

KABUL (BNA) In a meeting with Acting Economy Minister Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, today, Tuesday the Japan ambassador to Kabul, Takayoshi Kuromiya, announced $58.4 million his country’s aid to assist Afghan returnees who are forcibly deported by Pakistan.

In the meeting, the representatives of the Ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the Afghan Red Crescent Soceity and the representative of member of the security committee for returnees’ security attended, said the Economy Ministry in a statement.

During the meeting the ambassador of Japan said that these aids will be delivered by UNHCR or the United Nations for returnees for the needy returnees.

Ambassador Kuromiya in this meeting also assured of his country’s preparation to plan and conduct reconstruction projects in Afghanistan.
