Hamid Karzai Leaves For Tajikistan

Kabul (BNA)  Heading a government high-ranking delegation, president Hamid Karzai yesterday left Kabul for Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, to attend the 5th summit of the Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA). 
The meeting among Afghan, Tajik, Iranian and Pakistani president would be held on March 25, Abdul Hakim Asher, the government media centre chief said. 
He believed the regional countries could play an effective role in bolstering Afghanistan’s economy. 
President Karzai would also participate in a Nawroz festival in Tajikistan.  Previously, the foreign ministry had said the RECCA summit would feature representatives from more than 70 countries. 
Senior officials from Afghanistan, Pakistan and the United States will attend the next meeting of the trilateral Core Group on the sidelines of RECCA at the Afghan embassy in Dushanbe.
