PAKTIKA (BNA) As many as 77 Berretta pistols, made of USA, have been discovered and seized in Dandi Patan district of the country’s eastern province of Paktia, the provincial police office said in a statement Sunday.
“Police personnel, in series of overnight operations, have discovered and seized 77 American berretta pistols after being identified to be smuggled out of the country,” the statement said, adding that the weapon traffickers have managed to flee the area and no one has so far been arrested in connection with the issue.
The seized pistols have been transferred to the provincial police depot and investigations have been started to identify and arrest the traffickers, the statement added.
This is to be noted that the security forces of the Islamic Emirate have launched clearance operations to discover and seize weapons and ammunitions from irresponsible individuals across the country.
