European Commission: In Case Russia Invades Ukraine, We Impose Sanctions

Kabul (BNA) The head of European Commission has said that if Russia invades Ukraine, the European Union will impose rougher sanctions on the country.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has called for rougher sanctions amid ongoing diplomatic efforts with Russia over Ukraine.

Russia has deployed about 100,000 troops along the Ukrainian border, which the West suspects has been brought in to occupy Ukraine.

Russia wants security guarantees from the West and promises that it will never join NATO.

Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen said in an interview, financial and economic sanctions imposed extensive that limit access to foreign investment, and control exports, especially of technical equipment.
