“Governors Should Serve The People:” President Karzai

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai received the governors of 34 provinces attending the three-day conference in Kabul held at the initiative of the local organs department.
Addressing the governors, president Karzai drew the attention of governors towards their obligations and added that the governors should prioritize good governance as urgent need and this way try to provide better services for the people.
He stressed that the governors and the local government officials were the servants of the people and they should create unity among the people which is required for peace and progress.
He emphasized that each Afghan should feel his/her the owner of the homeland and to live with high spirit work toward the unity which guarantees our survival and stressed that if the Afghans act in unity, we will overcome the present and the future challenges.
He considered elimination of polio as an important task of the government, and instructed the minister of public health who was present at the meeting, to cooperate with the governors of those provinces affected by polio with the aim to eliminate the disease through national campaigns.
Abdul Khaliq Farahi chairman of local organs department, Kabul Governor Abdul Jabbar Taqwa also talking at the meeting emphasize that the governors should carry on their duties as the national servants of the people to overcome the problems with the cooperation of the people
