CE Meets Turkish Defense Minister

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met yesterday with Turkish Defense Minister, Fikri Iªik at the Sapidar Palace, Bakhtar News Agency reported.
Welcoming Turkish defense minister and his accompanied delegation visit to Kabul, CE Abdullah said in the meeting that Turkey has always been a friend of Afghanistan in the course of history, the report further said.
Turkey will continue cooperation with Afghanistan and we hope it is effective in strengthening and expansion of mutual relations, Turkish defense minister said, BNA added.
Turkey defense minister said that his country was supporting Afghanistan in term of restoring peace and stability and its success in fighting terrorism is the Turkey’s success too.
Pointing to his recent visit to Turkey to attend World Islamic Leaders and World Humanitarian Assistances Summits, CE Abdullah said, ‘we congratulate your success in these summits, adding we are proud of Turkey’s successes and achievements in different fields.’ During the meeting, CE Abdullah also stressed on joint fighting against terrorism—a phenomenon that is always victimizing both countries’ people.
CE Abdullah also briefed the Turkish defense minister on security and political situation as well as regional relations and Pakistan’s violations in fighting terrorism.
CE Abdullah called Afghanistan-Turkey relations friendly and expressed hope that the country’s PM to visit Afghanistan in the future, so the relations and economy cooperation between the two countries are further developed.
Turkish defense minister assured of his country’s continued cooperation in military and other sectors with Afghanistan.
