Kabul (BNA) A number of armed oppositions were killed in a series of operations conducted by national army troops in Helmand and Logar provinces.
National defense ministry spokesman said BNA, the national army troops conducting a series of clearing operations on insecure regions of Nawzad district of Helmand and Baraki Bark district of Logar province in which the armed oppositions sustained heavy casualties.
A quantity of heavy and light weapons was also seized in the operations.
According to another report, a national army troop was martyred in explosion of a mine in Herat province.
The source said, the national army soldier lost his life in explosion while patrolling in Karokh district of Herat province and three others were wounded.
Also three other soldiers were injured in a similar incident in Nawabarekzai district of Helmand province.
