Herat (BNA) Agriculture officials of Herat this year, pistachio crops have grown 15 percent in that province.
Mohammad Idres Zelal head of gardening department of Herat agriculture office told BNA correspondent, this year the amount of pistachio in Herat province reached to 3,000 tons.
There are 14,000 hectares of pistachio forest in Koshk Kohna, Koishk Robat Sangi and Gulran districts of the province.
Abdul Saboor Rahmani head of agriculture and livestock of Herat said that they are trying to promote pistachio cultivation in Herat province.
It is said that after Badghis province, Herat has the largest pistachio forests in the western parts of the country.
