Kabul (BNA) Ahmad Zia Massoud, the Special Envoy to president and Reforms and Good Governance has described the civil society entities as bridge between people and the government and lauded their role in the society.
He made the remarks in meeting with a delegation of civil society bodies who called on him here yesterday.
In the meeting, the delegation called for president’s support to the programs of civil society organs, urging the government to utilize the findings of the civil society. The delegation said that women are half of the population of the country and their presence in the government would help reduce violence against women.
Assuring the delegation, Massoud said that the process of reforms to ensure good governance is going on.
He also added that the government of national unity is committed to empower women and eliminate violence against women in the society.
