Executive Committee For Sustainable Goals Opened

Kabul (BNA) Executive committee for enduring expansion goals was opened yesterday in chief executive office in Kabul. In opening ceremony of the committee attended by chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, cabinet ministers, UN envoy to Afghanistan and a number of foreign ambassadors to Kabul, the country’s chief executive said that the committee aimed at strengthening and expansion of further coordination among ministries for implementation of the program the main goal of which was to eradicate poverty in the country.
He stressed that implementation of enduring development was necessary and Afghanistan should implement the program along with other world countries until 2023, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said any kind of delay in carrying out the program could have negative impacts. “We will keep on working with all donor countries towards maintaining tranquility for the people of Afghanistan”, the country’s chief executive said, adding that efforts made in this regard were satisfactory.
Meanwhile, UNDP country director to Afghanistan Douglas Keh while praising current coordination in this regard between Afghanistan institutions and leading body of chief executive office stressed that Afghanistan government was top in this sector comparing to other countries of the world. In the ceremony, officials for ministry of economy by enumerating details of the program said that 17 goals have been included in the program and they were determined to be implemented in four working groups.
