Taiwan Earthquake: Over 1,000 Injured, 9 Dead

 

KABUL (BNA): International media outlets have reported that the earthquake in Taiwan, which occurred on Wednesday morning local time, has resulted in a significant number of casualties. The injured count has escalated to 1,038, while the death toll has reached 9.

Rescue operations are currently in progress for 93 individuals, and there are 52 people reported missing. The earthquake, which originated in the east of Taiwan, caused extensive damage, destroying roads and buildings. It also disrupted essential services by cutting power lines in several areas.

The tremors from the earthquake were so strong that they were felt in neighboring countries, including the Philippines, China, and Japan.
