President Ghani Accepts New Australian Ambassador Credentials

Kabul (BNA) In a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan received credentials of the new Australian ambassador, a statement from his office said the other day.
Attended by foreign minister, Salahuddin Rabbani, President Ghani wished success to Australian ambassador, Richard Feakes over his new mission in Afghanistan, the statement further said.
In the ceremony, President Ghani appreciated Australia’s assistances and cooperation with Afghanistan over the last years in different fields, particularly in development and military sector, the statement added. Afterward, the new Australian ambassador to Kabul expressed glad over his new mission in Afghanistan and assured the president to make effort in bolstering mutual relations between the two countries, the statement concluded.
According to another report, Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Foreign Affairs separately met with newly-appointed Australian Ambassador to Kabul yesterday.
In the meeting, the Australian ambassador vowed to spare no efforts in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.
Rabbani also pointed out to the government of Afghanistan preparations for Brussels Summit, asking for participation of a high-ranking Australian delegation in the meeting.
