NPA Chief Conferred Medal, 24 Contracts Signed

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, during a ceremony, conferred state medal of Mir Masjedi Khan to the chief of the National Procurements Administration (NPA), the BNA reported Sunday.
Yama Yari recognized as deserved to the medal after his organization works were praised by the country’s president, with other officials of the administration have been appreciated during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, said the agency.
The president said his message to the entire administrations, officials and workers is to go ahead with transparency and effectiveness to be proud for the future of the country, the agency quoted.
Pointing to the hard work of the NPA officials, the president said they could establish a countrywide admin, since the last 18 months, to which the Australian Minister of Economy announced an exemplary nationwide, the agency added. “Effectiveness and transparency in the works of the national procurement admin, strengthens the well of the people that the institutions, by offering effective and valuable services are being reformed and strengthened,” said the agency.
Blaming some other administrations for failing to create an admin like what established by the National Procurements officials, the president said they not only felt fatigue throughout their works since long, but also didn’t bend to any pressure, and remained committed to Allah, The Almighty, the country’s constitution and NPs laws.
President Ghani also thanked Second Vice-President, Sarwar Danesh, CE Abdullah, ministers of finance, economy and justice, his senior advisor to infrastructural affairs and some other related officials for their effort to take active part in the NPA meetings.   Chaired by President Ghani, the National Procurements Committee signed 24 contracts nearly worth 3 billion Afghanis, said the agency.
The contracts included projects, suggested by the ministries and procurements institutions, according to the agency adding the projects included 22 km road of Hiaratan-Kaldar districts of Balkh province, building bridge with asphalted road in Takhar province and increase in work and price of the Kajaki 2 water dam as well as provision of some 800,000 tons of improved seeds and 200 tractors for the national horticulture and animal husbandry projects.
