14 Militants Killed In Separate Airstrikes In Paktia Province

Paktia (BNA) At least 14 militants were killed in two separate airstrikes in southeastern Paktia province of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Tuesday.
According to a statement by MoD, the first airstrike was carried out in Gian district of Paktia, leaving at least 8 militants dead and 4 others wounded.
The statement further added that the second airstrike was carried out in Gomal district leaving at least 6 militants dead and 2 others wounded.
According to MoD, at least 3 militants were killed during a separate clearance operations by the Afghan security forces in the vicinity of Ahmad Khel district.
The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the reports so far.
The Taliban militants and insurgents belonging to the other militant groups including the notorious Haqqani network terrorists are active in a number of Paktia districts where they often carry out insurgency activities.
The Afghan security forces have stepped air and ground raids against the militant groups to suppress their activities amid rampant Taliban-led insurgency across the country.
