Security Responsibility of Major Parts of Kandahar Delivered To The Afghan Forces

Kabul (BNA) The local authorities in Kandahar say that NATO forces have vacated major parts of the Kandahar province and their positions were taken over the Afghan forces.
Presently the NATO forces are in few remote areas of Kandahar while in most of other areas the Afghan security forces are deployed.
General Abdul Razaq commander of police of Kandahar said that they following pull out of NATO force from major parts of the province that Afghan forces took over their positions.
He said that deployment of the Afghanistan instead of foreign forces was welcomed by the people in unique manners.
He added that presently the people are cooperating with the Afghan security forces than any other time and this issue had led to positive impacts on the security situations there.
He stresses that the Afghan forces have been deployed in the cities and nearby districts.
The ministry of national defense and interior has stated recently that more security forces were deployed in the provinces to fill up the gap of foreign forces in those regions.
The police sources in Kandahar has stated that deployment of the Afghan forces have been successfully accomplished and added that this will attract more youths to join the police for maintaining the security of their areas.
On the threshold of closing to the year 2014 that the military presence of NATO will end, the Afghan authorities intend so that by attraction, training and deployment of forces in different regions take over the positions of the foreign troops vacating the areas.
