FM Muttaqi Meets European Union Repersentatives in Doha

KABUL (BNA) The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan high-rank delegation led by Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with representatives and ambassadors European union in Doha, Qatar, on Friday.

The participants of the meeting shared , suggestions, and detials on the humanitarian and health crisis in Afghanistan, the educational process, and needs, said a statement by Afghan Foreign Ministry.

The European union countries asserted their condolences to the victims of the recent earthquake in Afghanistan, adding that they will enhance humanitarian, educational and health assistance in Afghanistan as well as economic development in Afghanistan.

The foreign minister said some of the EU envoys’ concerns, particularly the economic situation, were that US-frozen assets and sanctions on the banking sector were causing problems for Afghan businesses.

Muttaqi assured that with the new government, the rights of everyone in the Afghan community have been protected and transparency has been established in all sectors.

He said that the professional cadres were sentimental, the mistreatment of the staff of the former administration was negative propaganda and a large number of expatriates were returning to their homeland.

Muttaqi said that security in Afghanistan is better than ever, no one is being restrained under the pretext of opposing the system, prisons are empty compared to last 40 years.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their satisfaction with the IEA, stressed on interaction with each other and called for holding such meeting in the future.
