Security Is Govt.’s Top Priority: Chief Executive

Kabul (BNA) In the wake of recent insecurities in a number of provinces especially the northern areas which caused many serious concerns, the leaders of the NUG said attention to security situation is at the top of government agenda.
Addressing attention to security situation as one of the basic elements and important issue in the country, Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah said, “The situation of the northern provinces including Kunduz, Baghlan, Badakhshan and incidents in other parts of the country, are the signs of intensification of insurgents attacks and the government considers ensuring security as a top priority. Appreciating the resistance, steadfastness and capabilities of ANSF in repulsing of insurgents attacks, CE emphasized on the need of their support. The government is seriously trying to prevent insecurities and stop insurgent’s subversive activities and seriously support ANSF. Acting MoD also assures on ANSF preparedness for ensuring security during current spring emphasizes on equipping and improvement of ANSF post-withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan, they assure the Afghan people that ANSF are well prepared to defend their country’ security and territorial integrity after withdrawal of foreign forces, because the ANSF enjoy high capability and experience even at regional level.
A number of parliamentarians appreciating the sacrifices and devotions of ANSF for restoration of security emphasize on their more funding and equipping by the government and world community and believe that the ANSF must be equipped with modern weapons and resources so to act successfully against insurgents. The ANSF have improved the confidence of the Afghan people to their capabilities. They proved that are capable alone to ensure security of their homeland. The law makers said that the ANSF carried out their jobs honestly but still they are in urgent need of further training and resources especially heavy weapons.
While there are deep concerns, on security situation in 1394 spring, but military-political experts believe that further attention should be focused on their organization and equipment, because this issue is a matter of concern. They said that during their thirteen years presence here, the NATO countries didn’t pay attention sufficient to equipping and improvement of ANSF and beside their equipping, their training quality and capacity should be promoted. In the last over one decade, the foreign troops had been contributing ANSF for ensuring security in the country. But in the wake of their withdrawal it is upon the determination of the Afghan people how they ensure security of their country. Ekram Andeshman a military-political analyst said “Restoration of northern provinces security should be seriously focused, because security of Afghanistan depends upon security of the Northern provinces. So security should be on the top priority of the government. Our people should be optimist on upcoming years. Because thirteen years ago none of these resources existed and people were leading dark days while today they have a bright future ahead. He added “At present Afghanistan has made considerable achievements on all fields. Today we have reliable security forces and ensuring security is one hundred percent in the hands of ANSF. Therefore there are new hopes ahead. A number of citizens also have more hopes for the current year. They expect the ANSF to have good preparedness for ensuing security and the NUG should put security at top of its priorities.
