Three Terrorists Arrested, Dozens of IEDs Seized in Southern Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency–has arrested three terrorists and seized dozens of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in southern Afghanistan.
According to BNA reporter, the three terrorists planned to carry out attacks on government facilities in Kandahar city, the provincial capital of southern Kandahar province. They are identified as Khan Mohammad S/O Abdul Karim original resident of Dand District who was currently residing in Kandahar city, Abdul Karim Agha alias Khan S/O Abdul Rahim Agha and Bismillah S/O Taj Mohammad residents of Baghki village in Shahr-i-Safa district of Zabul province. The terrorists have expressed their intentions in initial investigation with NDS. Afghanistan’s intelligence agency in a separate security operation has seized a cache of explosive devices and weapons in Helmand province. 34 homemade anti-vehicle bombs, 40 hand grenades, three pistols and ammunition were being kept in the cache for attacks but NDS personnel discovered it, statement issued by NDS stated.
