India Starts Training Afghan Special Forces Recruits

Kabul (BNA) The Indian military officials have confirmed that training of Afghan Special Forces have been instigated officially and currently a regiment of ASF are pursuing their professional and military training in Hab desert located in Rajasthan state.
Based on the statement of the Indian military spokesman, the decision is part of the commitments of the Indian nation to the Afghan nation, adding that the training comprised of conducting operations in the villagers and sensitive areas against the insurgents.
This comes after the government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan persistently requested the Indian government to provide military equipment to the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) including military helicopters, tanks and light and heavy weaponries.
The Indian government has pledged to play greater role in providing military training to the Afghan security forces and currently up to 60 Afghan Special Forces recruits are pursuing their military training alongside their Indian counterparts in a desert located in the Indian state of Rajasthan. In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) has strongly appreciated the brotherly cooperation of the Indian nation in all sectors in the country particularly training of Afghan Special Forces recruits.
Military analysts believe that Indian could play more roles in assisting Afghanistan in all sectors including economy and training of Afghan security forces. In his recent tour to India, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai besides holding wide-ranging discussions with the Indian leadership on various national, international and regional issues also tabled the needs of the Afghan security forces to the Indian government. Elaborating on the topic, military commentator Jawed Kohistani said, “Afghanistan has gained great reputation in international politics since the country started its new political chapter in global arena in 2001 and Indian has been one of the major donors of Afghanistan and training of the Afghan Special Forces recruits is part of the Indian commitments and promises to the Afghan people. “Afghanistan-India relations could be a paradigm to other countries in the region”. “The Afghan people appreciate the Indian contributions to our economic, political and military spheres, the Indian people have supported the Afghan people without maintaining any particularly objectives and motives and with consideration of Indian reputation in international politics, our relations with Delhi favor Afghanistan’s national interests and regional stability, political expert Amir Mohammad added.”
The people of Afghanistan strongly support longstanding relations with Indian and the two nations have been bounded in close cooperation over the course of time. “Afghanistan and the Indian republic have enjoyed brotherly relations with each other over the course of time and we expect that these ties are further developed, Kabul resident Wahid said.” “Other regional countries should learn from the brotherly relations between Kabul and New Delhi, the ties between these two nations not only supports their own interests but also regional peace and security, another resident Farhad added.” The Indian republic provided nearly $ two billion financial assistance to Afghanistan since the country started its new diplomatic ties with Delhi in 2001 and today India plays major roles on various fields in Afghanistan including economy, health, transportation and military supports to Afghan Security Institutions.
