Gap Feared Between People, Government, Danesh

Kabul (BNA) Second Vice President, Sarwar Danesh met yesterday with US ambassador to Kabul, Michael McKinley, during which both sides discussed variety of issues such as holding elections, electoral reforms and power transmission project through Turkmenistan to Afghanistan (TUTAP), the Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported. 
In the meeting, Danesh said that US was the greatest supporter to Afghanistan for fifteen years, that is why strengthening and protection of good relations with the US enjoys much importance, the report further said.
On TUTAP project, Second VP Danesh said that unfortunately, it sparked some tensions among the Afghan people which caused to create distance between people and the government.
Danesh said, we will do our best so the government satisfies the protesters.
The government of Afghanistan should decide without creation of any type of discrimination among the people on such important national issues, Danesh continued in the meeting.  The reason behind people sensitivity is that unfortunately, in twenty-years power master plan of the country, no project has been considered to four provinces of Nouristan, Bamyan, Ghor and Daikundi, Danesh added.
During the meeting, the ambassador said, the U.S. government has not interfered in design and way of the power transmission.’
Likewise, the U.S. ambassador to Kabul assured of his country and the international community continued cooperation with Afghanistan in different fields, in particular the election process.
