Kabul (BNA) The Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) has said in a statement released to media on Wednesday that it was fully committed to work on the renovation of the recently collapsed al-Ghaznain castle.  The statement asked the entire people of Afghanistan to cooperate with the ministry in preservation of the country’s cultural heritages.
The ministry said: “As dear Afghan citizens know, up to 32 historical monuments have been fundamentally renovated in 2013.  Also the wall and towers of the old city came under reconstruction process by the German Aachen University in 2013.  In 2017 a wide number of historical monuments have been restored funded by the historical monuments’ maintenance budget, while in 2018 up to 11 restoration projects are expected to be run in Ghazni province,” said the statement.
The ministry said the main reason for the collapse of the al-Ghaznain was hitting bullet and constantly flow of rainwaters around its bases that finally destroyed the historical tower, the statement quoted.
