Kabul (BNA)   The 14th of February is coincidence with 24th anniversary of withdrawal of Red Army troops of former Soviet Union from Afghanistan which is marked every year as a national rescue day.
BNA political annalist regarding to this important event in modern history of Afghanistan writes:
On 26 of Dalwa 1367 (Afghan calendar) the last Soviet troop left Afghanistan and a decade of occupation of that time superpower ended as a result of Afghans bravery.
This day has been considered as an epic day in the political history of Afghanistan, the day when one of the world’s superpowers came in to the knees before the will of a Muslim nation.
This victory was not accidental; it is the cost of the bloods of millions of Afghans who lost their lives in this unbalanced and brutal imposed war which left thousands of people as disabled, widows and orphan children. They completely destroyed the infrastructure of the country after a hurried decision against all accepted international norms attacked our homeland which is sacred for Afghans to achieve their colonial and expansionist goals.
The aim of the Red Army aggression to Afghan was fulfilling its old dreams of reaching to the warm waters and disseminating its evil ideology, fortunately this inhumane aim never realized which was not only a great threat  to the region but was a challenge to the entire world .
The red colonialism had severe consequences to the people of our country. With empty hands they had no way but to start a difficult but full of honor holy war against the occupiers to defend the independence, traditions, religion and the honor of their homeland.
Although today, 24 years have passed since the withdrawal of the Red Army but still the Afghans are suffering from insecurity and instability which is the direct result of foreign interferences. Today Afghanistan has the highest number of refugees in the world and it’s a clear fact that the reason behind all the problems, woes and pains the Afghans are suffering today is the consequences of the Red Army invasion.
Although, the Afghans lost everything in war against Soviet invasion, but the invasion also cost too much for the invader.  The former Soviet unions during its 9 years of occupation of Afghanistan until the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan by force, at least at 500 international meetings and conferences was openly condemned because of its invasion in to Afghanistan. The world during these gatherings and conferences condemning the invasion asked for unconditional withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan and to respect the sovereignty of that country.
During the occupation of Afghanistan, the soviet unions also sustained heavy casualties and losses which caused severe criticism by its own people and allies and brought distrust among Warsaw pact member countries. So it’s a true fact to claim that the Soviet Union’s completely collapsed because of its invasion to Afghanistan.
One cannot ignore the international cooperation to Afghan people in their war against occupiers, but it is a fact that it was Afghans who fought the Red Army heroically and let it not to fulfill its old ream on reaching the warm waters of the south.
The world should admit that the Afghans scarifying more than two millions of their brave sons rescued the world from horrible phenomenon of Red colonialism otherwise it could play with destiny of the peoples in other countries. Unfortunately, the international community ignoring the sacrifices of Afghans after the pull out of Red Army left Afghanistan alone and was indifferent against suffering Afghans who were severely in need of international cooperation.
The ignorance and indifferences of international community led to intervention of regional powers in home affairs of Afghanistan for achieving their hegemonic goals and to provide the ground for the growth of terrorism and extremism in the region. What has been happened in Afghanistan after the pull out of former Soviets’ troops until 2001 is an understandable fact nobody can deny them. Now, at this juncture of time, considering the old experiences and evident, the international community has to stand firmly beside Afghans in fight against terrorism and foreign interferences, otherwise once again all the region could become a stronghold of terrorism which could be disastrous for the entire world.
