President Ahmadzai Meets Communications Companies’ In Charges

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai met with the in charges of the communication companies on Sunday.
Presidential press office stated BNA, in the meeting attended by First Vice-President, Sarwar Danish and the government’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Acting Minister of Communication, Amirzai Sangeen presented information about the development made in telephone services in the country.
The acting minister said currently, the communication companies had covered 90 percent of the country, where the mobile phone services could get full use and added that efforts are being made to expand the coverage further than ever.
According to him, the finance ministry had wide revenue from the communication companies’ facilitated telephone services across the country.
Meanwhile, Roshan Communication Company’s Chief, Karim Khawja provided the president and the Chief Executive Officer with information about the recent discount in the payment of the telephone services in the country.
In the meeting, President Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah assured the communication companies in charges to set tackling the communication problems at the priorities of the national unity government (NUG).
The president asked for sharing their problems directly with him, as well as asked them to manage their affairs in coordination with the government in order to facilitate good governance and remote-electronic medical training development in the country.
Dr. Ashraf Ghani also said the communication companies should not only remain working for the country’s telephone services, but also should cooperate with the government in other spheres.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of the government assured the communication companies for what he said existence of a political decision to meet the communication companies’ challenge, but asked for training Afghan cadres as well.
