Prof. Bakhtani Khedmatgar’s Funeral Ceremony Held In Nangarhar

Kabul (BNA) Prof. Abdullah Bakhtani Khedmatgar, a Pashto poet, writer, researcher and member of Afghanistan Sciences Academy, buried in his ancestral cemetery in Nangarhar.
Prof. Bakhtani passed away the other day at the age of 93 years due to disease he was suffering.
He left hundreds of books in poetry, literature and researches behind.
The burial ceremony was attended by hundreds of poets, writers, researchers, members of Afghanistan Academy of sciences universities lecturers, cultural figures, government officials and relatives of the deceased family.
In his message, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani called Ustad Bakhtani Khedmatgar as a greet scholar and said that the deceased had written dozens of books and played key role in development of culture in the country.
In his message, the country’s President regarded death of Ustad Bakhtani as big loss.
Meanwhile, acting minister of information and culture Prof. Mohammad Rasoul Bawari in a separate message by pointing to hundred books written by Ustad Bakhtani regarded services of the deceased as valuable in development of culture and literature.
“Prof. Bakhtani, who wrote his researchers in Dari and Pashto languages, was among well-known researchers of Pashto language,” the message said.
It is worth mentioning that Prof. Abdullah Bakhtani served as journalist, researcher, poet and writer and spent most of his life in the country’s researching and scientific academies including Afghanistan Academy Sciences.
