Scientific, Literary Position of Sayed Shamsuddin Majruh Marked

Kabul (BNA) With reading of the message of President Karzai the meeting for marking the literary and scientific position of Sayed Shamsuddin Majruh was marked by the Ministry of Information and Culture.
The meeting was attended by some government officials, heads of departments of the ministry, some scientific and cultural personalities.
The message of the president was read out by Hedayet Amin Arsala senior minister.
The message while appreciating the ministry of information and culture for holding the meeting it is said that late Sayed Shamsuddin Majruh was a popular and freedom loving personality and during his life he worked hard for freedom and democracy and consolidation of unity whose name is recorded in the history of the contemporary movement of Afghanistan.
The messages also praised the positive services of late Majruh in political, social areas, expansion of contemporary culture and growth of literature of the country and he has left behind numerous works in Dari and Pashto languages.
Dr. Sayed Makhdom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture also spoke on the scientific, cultural and literary personality of Sayed Shamsuddin Majruh as well as on his works.
He added that examples of Majruh’s poems indicate that he was engaged on the human virtues.
He noted that Majruh was a popular person and he used to be with his people.
He also stood on the side of people during the Jehad years and believed on the role of people in determining the country’s destiny and hated power seekers.
Humanyun Shah Asefi political analyst also spoke on the activities of Majruh and added that holding of such meeting is not only attaching value to the scientific and cultural values of the country but a tool for their introduction to the young generation.
Three poem collection and literary works of Majruh were also distributed to the participants of the meeting.
Sayed Akbar brother’s son of Majruh who has exerted efforts for collection and arranging his books provided explanation about the contents of the books of late Majruh.
Other speakers at the meeting were Habibullah Rafie, Mawlawi Shahzada Shahed people’s representative at the House of People, and Hassan Wolesmal.
Also Sayed Naeem Majruh read out the biography of late Majruh saying that he was born in Kunar in 1910.
He served during the reign of Babea Millate as member of the Eyeean Assembly, as minister of justice, chairman of the commission for compiling of the constitution.
He died in 2002 and buried in Kunar.
