Releasing Hostages Key Priority, Mohaqiq

Kabul (BNA) Second Deputy to Chief Executive, Hajji Mohammad Mohaqiq met with members of Maidan-Wardak’s provincial council, elders and influential figures of Behsoud and Daimirdad districts of the province and Waras district of Bamyan province, the Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported Sunday.
According to the agency, appreciating the government efforts in development sector and building of infrastructures in Hazarajat area and other parts of the country, the participants spoke about security situation of the related areas.
The participants also said that those who were commuting through Bamyan-Maidan/Wardak highway were not safe and sometimes have been kidnapped by insurgents, the report further said.  In the meeting, the participants asked the CE deputy to make effort in ensuring security of highways, the report added.
Furthermore, members of the provincial council reported the CE deputy on releasing of 11 hostages with mediation of the council, provincial elders and local officials in Maidan/Wardak, the report continued.
They also asked the government to make effort in releasing of hostages and ensure security in highways of the country, the report added.
Welcoming the participants, Hajji Mohaqiq promised them to do his best in releasing of hostages and ensuring security of highways.
Releasing of hostages is the current priority, Hajji Mohaqiq said, adding he will seriously make effort so the hostages are decently freed.
Likewise, representatives and elders of Nawmish district of Daikundu province in a separate meeting briefed the CE deputy over their problems. They also asked the government to pay attention in distribution of ID cards ‘Tazkira’ in their district.
In return, Hajji Mohaqiq vowed them to do his best to solve their problems.
