Hospital Foundation for Addicts Lays Down

Kabul (BNA) For the first time the foundation stone of a hospital for treatment of addicts laid down in Sar-e-Pul province yesterday.
The hospital will have 20 beds and will be built at the cost of 14 million Afghanis from budget of Counter Narcotic Ministry in Sar-e-Pul city.
It has been said that all facilities and equipment have been considered for treatment of addicts in this hospital.
There was no hospital for treatment of addicts in this province and only several governmental and non-governmental organizations are to pay for treatment of addicts.
Meanwhile, according to figures provided at least 12 thousand people including women and children have been addicted to hashish, opium, and heroin in Sar-e-Pul province.
Health officials announced that due to lack of appropriate treatment center the number of the addicts increase day by day in this province.
Hamidullah Hamid head of Counter Narcotic of Sar-e-Pul expressed concern over the increasing of addicts in this province said, the activities of the hospital largely can reduce the number of addicts.
