Governor of Bamyan, Meets UN Senior Delegation

BAMYAN (BNA) In meeting with Governor of Bamyan, UN senior delegation promised to continue to provide emergency assistance to the people of Bamyan.

According to Bamyan governor’s press office, Martin Griffith, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and the UN Emergency Relief Coordinator, on his visit to Bamyan province, he met with Alhaj Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadi, Governor of Bamyan Province, to discuss the security, economic, humanitarian aid and infrastructure projects in the province.

The Governor of Bamyan said in the meeting that security is a great blessing on which everything depends, which since the rule of the Islamic Emirate So far, there have been no security problems throughout Bamyan province.
Mawlaw Abdullah Sarhadi told the UN delegation that humanitarian aid has being distributed fairly and under the supervision of the Bamyan local authorities to the poor and needy.

At the current state, the humanitarian aid is not enough, and we call on the international community and the United Nations to pay more attention to increase humanitarian aid in the province, as well as infrastructure projects in sectors of health, education and other infrastructure projects” he said. Which is one of the basic necessities of the people of this province, to start its work.

Meanwhile, the UN Deputy Chief of Mission said that the UN assistance in the current situation is urgent and is mostly in the area of ​​meeting the basic needs and urgency.

The delegation stated that the UN would cooperate in sectors of agriculture, irrigation system and farmers’ familiarity with marketing and other agricultural sectors.
