Special operations handover, another step towards national sovereignty enforcement, Faizi

Kabul (BNA) Presidential spokesman, Eimal Faziai in a joint press conference with the defense ministry spokesman, Gen. Zahir Azimi called signing the recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Afghanization of special operations, a great development towards the security responsibility handover and self-reliance of the country’s security forces.  Briefing to reporters in a press conference held in the government Media Center, Faizai called signing the MoU a positive towards strengthening of the national sovereignty of the country.  Pointing out to the last remarks of President Karzai, the spokesman said the houses and the people residential areas of the people of the country would be protected henceforth and the people of Afghanistan would not only be get protected of the tortures from the international troops, but, they would also be protected by the country’s security forces too, as according to him, the military operations would hereinafter be launched within the framework of the country’s influenced rules.  By signing the MoU which led to transfer of the Bagram Jail to the Afghan forces and Afghanization of the night raids, practical works had been commenced on signing strategic partnership document between Afghanistan and the US.  “The strategic pact is hoped to be signed before the Chicago conference”, Faizi added.  Asked on the Afghan peace process, the spokesman said that Pakistan can play key role in peace process success hoping the way to be paved for a direct peace negotiation with the government armed oppositions following President Karzai’s successful visit to Pakistan and cooperation of the neighboring country as a result of which peace and stability to be restored in Afghanistan.
